CAREER OBJECTIVE To pursue a Communication career in an innovative and dynamic environment, allowing me to use my full creative potential. To learn new skills and apply them creatively. To eventually manage the graphical and functional design of large scope projects, involving various technologies, media and audiences. ATTRIBUTES
DEMONSTRATED ACHIEVEMENTS Web Design & Programming I began web design in 1995, as part of the SchoolNet team (sponsored by Industry Canada), and never stopped since... Being an experienced desktop publisher, I also did other works – printed material, illustration, watercolor, cartoon, etc. – to complement these web sites. Most of the projects I was involved in were sponsored by or made for public institutions and intended for a large audience. Strict guides and regulations regarding design and accessibility had to be applied, namely in terms of:
Over the years, I had to work on various server platforms using different database server-client architectures, for example:
I am a strong advocate of OSS and my platform of choice is Gnu/Linux – I am currently running Ubuntu 7.10 on my 2 personal computers. In my present work I use an iMac running OsX 10 (Tiger). I also use Windows (XP & Server2003) through virtualization using Parallels on the Mac and VirtualBox on Ubuntu. Teaching and Education I taught web design and other computer courses (MS-Office, operating systems and Javascript) for a year and have been involved on numerous occasions in didactic projects for the Web. I am very interested by the teaching potential of the web and the design possibilities it creates. Art I use various techniques, such as watercolor and inks, pastel, charcoal and pencil (visit the Gallery and Folio sections for more).
